In an Instagram post following her headlining performance at Coachella 2024, Lana Del Rey didn’t hold back in addressing some behind-the-scenes drama that nearly derailed her festival set.

The singer took aim at her former tour manager, accusing him of quitting abruptly just weeks before her highly anticipated appearance, while also revealing that she had been battling laryngitis mere hours before taking the stage.

Lana Del Rey’s lengthy statement revealed that she and her team were forced to reorganize and prepare for the massive headlining gig without the services of her longtime tour manager.

“Pete quit for no reason after 15 years because he was butt hurt that I got 10 comped bikes for free from Wally and randomly decided he was more of a stage designer than a tour manager,” Del Rey wrote, referring to her viral motorcycle entrance during the set.

The singer didn’t mince words here and even expressed gratitude to Emily, who “stepped up as tour manager when Pete quit,” while also taking a swipe at her former colleague’s perceived unprofessionalism.

“Never got a phone call probably never will. Still grateful for the 15 years though. No worries – 37 days was more than enough time to put together an entire headlining set all by ourselves. Not stressful at all.”

As if the sudden departure of a key team member wasn’t enough of a challenge, Lana Del Rey also revealed that she had been struggling with vocal issues in the lead-up to her Coachella performance.

“I caught laryngitis that literally left just a few hours before I hit the stage,” she wrote, crediting her team for helping her overcome the ailment through alternative therapies. “Tessa DiPietro spent two hours lifting that cough remotely through her body intuitive skills just minutes before showtime.”

Despite the obstacles, the singer still delivered an enjoyable performance that included duets with Billie Eilish, Jon Batiste, and Jack Antonoff.
