The Los Angeles Chargers added USC wide receiver Brenden Rice to their roster in the seventh round (No. 225 overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft held on Saturday.
Brenden Rice, the son of NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, joins the Chargers, bringing with him a family legacy marked by records in catches, receiving yards, and touchdowns.
This selection bolsters the Chargers’ wide receiver corps, complementing talents like Joshua Palmer, Quentin Johnston, Derius Davis, Simi Fehoko, and Ladd McConkey, who was also drafted by the Bolts in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 208 pounds, the 22-year-old Rice adds size and skill to the Chargers’ offensive arsenal.
During his time at USC, Rice earned recognition as a 2023 Second-Team All-Pac-12 recipient, leading the Trojans with an impressive 12 receiving touchdowns.
Throughout his collegiate career, Rice amassed 84 catches for 1,402 yards and scored 16 touchdowns, initially launching his journey at Colorado before transferring to USC.
