Bruno Fernandes scored twice as Bournemouth twice relinquished leads in their 2-2 draw against Manchester United on Saturday.
Dominic Solanke capitalized on a long ball from Marcos Senesi, taking advantage of Will Kambwala’s slip to cut inside and thunderously strike the opening goal 16 minutes into the first half.
The match then became a seesaw battle, with Marcus Rashford and Luis Sinisterra unable to convert chances. Manchester United intensified their attack, and Bruno Fernandes capitalized on a defensive error by Bournemouth to equalize just after the half-hour mark.
Bournemouth retaliated, with Solanke narrowly missing a shot before Senesi provided his second assist, setting up Justin Kluivert for a low strike past Andre Onana.
Before halftime, Bournemouth nearly scored a third goal, but Milos Kerkez’s header struck the crossbar, and Onana denied Kluivert on a set piece.
In the ninth minute of first-half stoppage time, Fernandes found space outside Bournemouth’s box and unleashed a shot that struck the crossbar.
