One of the world’s most controversial leaders, President Vladimir Putin is securing victory in the 2024 Russian Presidential poll with a landslide.
Reuters reported that polls revealed that President Putin is leading the election with 88 percent to defeat the Communist Party’s candidate, Nikolai Kharitonov who had secured only 4 percent votes.
New People’s Party’s candidate, Vladislav Davankov secured 3.85%, and Leonid Slutsky of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia scored 3.1% votes.
The Russian President has been in power since his first day in office in 2000 and he is on his way to securing another 6-year term that would make him become Russia’s longest-serving president for more than 200 years.
