Germany Beats Netherlands 2-1 As Julian Nagelsmann’s Team Continues Its Revival

Germany continued their preparations for the Euro 2024 finals with a confidence-boosting win over the Netherlands, signaling their readiness to compete on home soil.

Following their impressive 2-0 victory in France on Saturday, the Germans mounted a comeback against the Dutch in Frankfurt, securing a 2-1 win with Niclas Fullkrug’s decisive goal in the 85th minute.

Although the Dutch initially took the lead with Joey Veerman’s fourth-minute volley, Maximilian Mittelstadt swiftly equalized just seven minutes later.

The victory marked Germany’s first consecutive win under manager Julian Nagelsmann, with Borussia Dortmund striker Fullkrug’s late header sealing the triumph.

Nagelsmann expressed satisfaction with the win, emphasizing its significance after a string of winless matches leading up to this international break.

The Euro 2024 finals are set to commence on Friday, 14 June at the Allianz Arena in Munich, where Germany will face Scotland in Group A, alongside Hungary and Switzerland.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands, who made several changes from their previous victory over Scotland, are drawn in Group D, alongside Poland, Austria, and France.

The tournament will culminate on Sunday, 14 July, with the final scheduled to take place at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
