Buckingham Palace was forced to respond to a report from Russian Media announcing King Charles’s passing at a time when the Palace is doing all that it can to avoid issuing information, especially in light of #KateGate.
The New York Post reports that Russian publications shared a piece of information that was credited to Buckingham Palace, which included the seal of the British Palace.
During the last weekend, TikTok and Twitter users began to share reports that the BBC was “on standby” to receive and publish an official announcement from the Royals, with many even falling for a fake TikTok page with the claim that it is being run the news organization.
Among the tweets circulating shows that government buildings in the United Kingdom were flying their flags at half-mast, leading many to believe the rumors that the King is dead. However, many others refuted the circulating video, claiming that it was from September 2022 and enjoining users not to fall for “false claims.”
Conspiracy theories and rumors about King Charles’ health have only ramped up ever since Buckingham revealed that the 75-year-old king was diagnosed with cancer immediately after being treated for an enlarged prostate.
