Dolly Parton has congratulated Beyoncé on her recent achievements in the country music scene and expressed her excitement for her upcoming album, Renaissance Act II.

“Texas Hold ‘Em” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, making Beyoncé the first Black woman to top the chart. The song is the lead single from her upcoming album, Renaissance Act II, which will be her first full-length country album, and is set to be released on March 29, 2024.

Dolly Parton, who has won eleven Grammy Awards and has been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, took to Instagram on Thursday, to share a heartfelt message for the pop icon, who has made history with “Texas Hold ‘Em“.

“I’m a big fan of Beyoncé and very excited that she’s done a country album,” she wrote in a background. “So congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single. Can’t wait to hear the full album! Love, Dolly.”

The ‘Pretty Hurts singer’ has not yet responded to Parton’s post, but she has previously expressed her admiration for the country legend.

Beyoncé’s move to country music has been met with mixed reactions. Some have questioned her authenticity and credibility in the genre. However, many have also praised her for bringing more attention and representation to country music, especially for Black women and people of color.

Beyoncé’s Renaissance Act II will be the second part of a trilogy of albums that she announced in 2022, following Renaissance, which was a critically acclaimed R&B and soul album. The third part, Renaissance Act III, will complete the trilogy.
