The NFL Players Association confirmed the passing of Ronald Powell, a former linebacker for the New Orleans Saints, at the age of 32, as reported on X.
“Today we mourn the loss of Ronald Powell — a father, a brother, and a son who was loved and cherished by so many. We send comfort to all those who knew Ronald,” the association wrote.
Details regarding the circumstances of Powell’s death have not been disclosed.
Selected in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL draft from the University of Florida, Powell displayed his talent with 11 sacks and 18.5 tackles for loss during his college career, as highlighted by Sports Illustrated.
