
Veterans Day is a day to celebrate US service members, past and present. The federal holiday is typically observed on November 11.
But this year, since it’s a Saturday, some people will celebrate the holiday on Friday, November 10.
Here are the places that will be open and closed on Veterans Day in 2023, as well as the day that some people will celebrate it.
Banking
The Board of Governors will not be in session on Friday, but Federal Reserve Banks will remain open.
On Friday, Bank of America and Wells Fargo locations will run normally, and on Saturday, they will close. According to JPMorgan Chase, its locations will be closed on Saturday in observance of the holiday and open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, TD Bank will be closed.

Trading on the Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange will continue as usual on Friday.
Delivery services
On Saturday, UPS will run as usual. FedEx will run as usual on Friday, the day before Veterans Day, with the exception of FedEx Express and FedEx Ground Economy’s limited service. FedEx Ground, FedEx Ground Economy, and FedEx Freight will all be closed on Saturday. Every other service will be available.
According to the USPS, post offices will operate regularly on Friday but will be closed on Saturday “with no mail delivery or retail services.”
Government services
The majority of government agencies will observe Friday as a holiday; consider DMVs and neighborhood libraries. Verify again whether the services in your area are open on that particular day.
Retailers
On Friday and Saturday, major merchants including Walmart, Target, Kroger, and other grocery chains will be open. Be careful to inquire about other hours with nearby merchants and stores.
