West Ham overcame a late lead to defeat Nottingham Forest in the Premier League thanks to a goal from Tomas Soucek.
After three losses, Soucek scored off a James Ward-Prowse corner to give the Hammers a much-needed victory.
At London Stadium, Jarrod Bowen gave the home team an equalizer in the second half before Soucek’s late victory.
Bowen added another goal from a corner taken by Ward-Prowse, soaring high to head in as the Hammers quickly leveled the score.
Lucas Paqueta’s driving finish in the first half gave the home team the lead.
After just three minutes, the Brazil midfielder scored when Nicolas Dominguez of Forest gave up possession of the ball, which perfectly bounced for Paqueta to smash into the bottom corner.
Just before the half, Taiwo Awoniyi equalized, scoring from close range after goalkeeper Alphonse Areola parried Morgan Gibbs-White’s original effort into his path.
Ola Aina’s cutback into the box was pounced on by Anthony Elanga, who fired into the bottom corner to put Forest up for the first time in the match. However, Bowen equalized for the Hammers nearly immediately before Soucek reclaimed the lead.
As a consequence, West Ham moves up to ninth place in the standings, while Forest stays in fifteenth.
