Steelers WR George Pickens Frustrated After Dreadful Performance, Posts Cryptic Message

Steeler‘s second-year wide receiver George Pickens posted a cryptic message after an abysmal performance in Thursday night’s 20-16 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Pickens only caught two passes for -1 yard on “Thursday Night Football.” And then he scrubbed Steelers from his Instagram and posted “Free Me.”

Despite his lack of recent production, Pickens is still on pace to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards this season for Pittsburgh, which improved to 5-3 after beating Tennessee.

Pickens has three 100-yard games but he has only had three receptions over Pittsburgh’s last two games.

He has let his frustrations get into his head this season. He made news last season when TV cameras caught him screaming “Throw me the f—ing ball” during a win over the Atlanta Falcons. He has also committed multiple unnecessary fouls this season.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin would be addressing George’s social media post during a press conference during the week.

Last week, George finished with just one catch and 22 yards during a loss to the Jaguars in Week 8.

When asked why the star wideout was kept in check, head coach Mike Tomlin said:

“They were playing two-on-one football,” he said on his YouTube show on the Steelers’ channel. “And really, that’s a good sign to be quite honest with you. We are experienced with that. We’ve had dynamic receivers here in the past that have garnered that type of attention, and usually, it just makes the sledding much easier for others, whether it’s the passing game or opportunities in the running game.”
