Ravens’ Gus Edwards Ties Team Record With Second TD Against Seahawks

Gus Edwards, a running back for the Baltimore Ravens, is breaking team records in his speed at reaching the end zone.

Late in the second quarter, Edwards drove his way to a 3-yard touchdown, giving the Ravens a 14-0 lead over the Seattle Seahawks. Edwards has tied the record for the most touchdowns in a three-game span in Ravens history with six in his last three games. Marcus Robinson (2003) and Willis McGahee (2009) are the other two to have done so.

After scoring on a 4-yard run earlier in the second quarter, this was Edwards’ second touchdown of the game and his sixth in his previous 33 carries. Edwards’ seventh touchdown of 2023 also set a personal high for him in a single season.

Following starting running back J.K. Dobbins’ season-ending Achilles injury in Week 1, the Ravens turned to Edwards.

In the third quarter, undrafted rookie Keaton Mitchell found freedom and scored a 40-yard touchdown. For the 27th time since Lamar Jackson joined the team in 2018, the Ravens amassed 200 rushing yards.
