Philadelphia 76ers Get 50 From Tyrese Maxey, Stomp Indiana Pacers


Joel Embiid recorded 37 points and 13 rebounds in addition to a career-high 50 points from Tyrese Maxey, helping the host Philadelphia 76ers defeat the Indiana Pacers 137-126 on Sunday night.

Maxey led the 76ers to their eighth consecutive victory by making 20 of 32 field goals, including 7 of 11 from 3-point range. His tally of points exceeded his previous career high of 44, which he had established on October 28, 2022, when Philadelphia defeated Toronto 112-90.

With 1:05 left in the fourth quarter, Maxey completed his scoring avalanche with a step-back 3-pointer. He ended the game with three blocks, five assists, and seven rebounds. Embiid’s 19 points in the opening quarter sealed his sixth consecutive double-double.

The current NBA MVP made 12 of 26 shots from the field and 12 of 14 foul shots.

Tyrese Haliburton of Indiana finished with a total of 25 points and 17 assists to record his eighth double-double in nine games. Buddy Hield scored 16 points off the bench in addition to Myles Turner’s 22 points, and the Pacers lost their three-game winning run.

With 27 points from Desmond Bane, Memphis defeated the host Los Angeles Lakers in a furious comeback.

With 6:38 remaining in the fourth quarter, Paul George’s 3-pointer gave the Clippers an 84-84 edge, but Memphis had taken an 11-point lead going into the final quarter.
