Oliver Norwood’s Late Penalty Goal Earns Sheffield United Victory Against Wolves

Sheffield United’s first Premier League victory of the season came from a stoppage-time penalty converted by Oliver Norwood, which put Wolves behind the wall.

Following a video assistant referee (VAR) check following a foul by Fabio Silva on George Baldock in the box, Norwood scored from the spot in the tenth additional minute.

Earlier, a fantastic solo goal by Cameron Archer gave the Blades the lead.

Goalkeeper Jose Sa was rendered helpless when Archer, clean through on goal, struck the crossbar and left Wolves defenders in his wake.

Before Norwood gave United the lead again, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde equalized in the 89th minute with a curling shot into the top corner.

The home team ended a run of six games without a win, but they still sit bottom of the table on goal differential after winning just one of their previous ten games.

In the final seconds, United proved their superiority after outplaying their opponents in the second half.

Wes Foderingham tipped Matheus Cunha’s effort over the bar to deny Wolves the lead in the first half.

Following Sasa Kalajdzic’s pass, Hwang Hee-chan cleverly positioned himself in the box, but he misfired on his shot.

The ball that resulted struck Rayan Ait-Nouri too quickly for him to recover and score on a day that saw the end of the Wolves’ five-game league winning streak.
