Marcos Leonardo, the attacker for Santos, is still of interest to Roma.
However, over the past several months, it appears that a number of Premier League clubs have taken an interest in the 20-year-old Brazilian.
As a result of Santos’ decision to temporarily halt negotiations for Leonardo’s departure to Roma, Newcastle has become a possible suitor for the January transfer window, according to Brazilian journalist Bruno Lima.
Santos and Roma had an agreement in place in August, but the Brazilian team chose to put off talks until January.
Leonardo appears to be tempted right now to play for a premier European team.
Newcastle only had a casual encounter with Santos’ entourage a while back; no discussions have yet taken place between the two parties.
