Minnesota Vikings Officially Returns Linebacker Anthony Barr On Practice Squad

The Minnesota Vikings have officially welcomed back a well-known player.

The veteran linebacker Anthony Barr has been added to the practice squad, the team announced on Tuesday.

Barr most recently played for the Dallas Cowboys, where he recorded 58 tackles and two fumble recoveries in 14 games after spending the first eight of his career with the Vikings.

Barr’s return comes the same week that starting linebacker Jordan Hicks was hurt on the field on Sunday, suffering from compartment syndrome. Hospitalization was necessary for the condition, and Hicks is anticipated to miss at least one game.

Minnesota selected Barr with the ninth overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. He played for the Vikings for four seasons in a row and was selected to the Pro Bowl each time.
