The Milwaukee Bucks have unveiled their newest jersey, which will be worn exclusively this season, including during their game on Thursday, Nov. 3. It is a part of the 2023–24 NIKE NBA City Edition collection.
The Bucks are use the uniform to emphasize the team’s contribution to building a social hub for supporters in Wisconsin and throughout the world for the second consecutive season. The throngs that gathered in Deer District and Fiserv Forum during the historic 2021 NBA Championship run served as the idea for this season’s design for the Bucks, as they became a worldwide symbol of Milwaukee’s diversity and the unrivaled fervor of Bucks fans.
“We have developed an incredible bond with our fans, and we take great pride in our role in bringing communities together,” said Dustin Godsey, Bucks Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. “The images of our fans packed in Deer District during the 2021 playoffs illustrated that we have the best fans in the NBA. This uniform pays homage to them.”
Great Lakes Blue, which was used on the 2020–21 and 2022–23 City Edition uniforms, is used in the design. In order to represent the interconnectedness of Milwaukee, which is created by Lake Michigan and the three rivers that flow through the city, Great Lakes Blue was introduced to the Bucks color scheme in 2015.
This season, a second, paler blue that is included into the abstract speckle pattern on the uniform’s foundation serves to enhance the Great Lakes Blue jersey hue. The speckle pattern, which was inspired by the crowds that congregated in Deer District during Game 6 of the 2021 NBA Finals, is an abstract depiction of the supporters that follow the Bucks all year long, no matter where they live.
The distinctively curved banner on the front of the uniform was drawn inspiration from Fiserv Forum’s architectural design. To complete the look, the front banner extends onto the shorts along one side of the uniform. The intense energy that Bucks supporters bring to Fiserv Forum for every game served as the inspiration for the striking green accent color used on the jersey trim and shorts.
When the Bucks play the Knicks in an In-Season Tournament game tomorrow, Nov. 3, they will don the City Edition clothes for the first time.
Seven home games, including the other In-Season Tournament game at Fiserv Forum on November 24 and five home games against 2021 playoff opponents, will feature the uniform this season. Starting in December, the City Edition alternate court will be a fitting match to the uniforms.
The retail collection for the City Edition is currently accessible both in-store at the Bucks Pro Shop at Fiserv Forum and online at www.shop.bucks.com.
