On the Billboard Music Awards 2023 red carpet in Los Angeles on Sunday, Karol G wore a wet look. The singer appeared as though she was wearing wet fabric because of her nude minidress with an abstract pattern. Her clear Gianvito Rossi heels completed the ensemble.
Karol’s outfit resembled the one Shakira wore in their joint music video “TQG,” which was made available in February. Shakira donned a custom dress made by Di Petsa, a well-known designer of wet clothing. Petas developed a wet technique that took six months to finish, and the designer is very protective of her trade secret.
Karol performed her hits “Qlona,” “Labios Mordidos,” and the unreleased song “Ojos Ferrari” to kick off the Billboard Music Awards ceremony. This year’s Billboard Music Awards saw the singer nominated for five times, including Latin Pop Album for “Mañana Será Bonito,” the first Spanish-language album by a female artist to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard charts.
Karol G wore a sparkling pink Balmain minidress to the Latin Grammy Awards 2023 on Thursday. Three accolades were given to the singer, including Album of the Year. Olivier Rousteing, creative director of Balmain, praised her awards on Instagram.
“Congratulations my dear on all your incredible @latingrammys awards last night, you deserve the best!” he wrote.
The Billboard Music Awards honor songs and albums that are chart-topping as well as the achievements of international musicians. Marriott Bonvoy and Lexus are the event’s sponsors this year. They will handle transportation and present one of the star-studded musical acts.
Performers included Bebe Rexha, David Guetta, Morgan Wallen, Tate McRae, Karol G, Stray Kids, Peso Pluma, and Mariah Carey in addition to Rexha.
