Federico Valverde Signs New Contract With Real Madrid

Federico Valverde’s contract with Real Madrid has been extended until 2029.

The 25-year-old’s release clause, which currently stands at €1 billion (£871.5 million, $1.07 billion), will increase along with his salary.

In October, The Athletic revealed that Valverde had reached an agreement on the terms of a new contract through extremely discreet negotiations.

Fede Valverde’s contract with Real Madrid CF has been extended. The player will remain associated with the team until June 30, 2029, according to a statement.

“Valverde arrived at Real Madrid in July 2016, when he was only 18 years old. In his six seasons defending the first team shirt he is already one of the best midfielders in the world.”

Along with Vinicius Junior, Eduardo Camavinga, Rodrygo, and Eder Militao, Valverde is another Real Madrid player whose contract has been extended.

The purpose of the new contracts is to protect Real Madrid’s younger players from potential interest from Saudi Arabian and Premier League clubs, while also rewarding their excellent performances.

Since joining Real Madrid in 2017, Valverde has made 220 appearances for the club after leaving Uruguayan side Penarol. His release clause was increased to €1 billion when he last signed a six-year contract in 2021.
