
Drake London, the top receiver for the Atlanta Falcons, will not play against the Vikings on Sunday.
With a groin injury, London left the Falcons’ 28-23 loss to the Titans last Sunday in the third quarter. This week, the former first-round selection has not been able to practice.
With 37 receptions for 438 yards and two touchdowns this season, the 22-year-old is Atlanta’s top receiver. In the passing game, the Falcons will depend on tight end Jonnu Smith, receiver Mack Hollins, and second-year tight end Kyle Pitts without London.
Cordarrelle Patterson, a former Viking, has not played much at wide receiver this season, but he has been used more in the running game.
In addition, Taylor Heinicke, who took over at quarterback for Atlanta following Desmond Ridder’s unsteady start, is the new starter this week.
Security The other players ruled out of Sunday’s game are fullback Keith Smith (concussion) and DeMarcco Hellams (hamstring).
Kickoff on Sunday at noon will see Minnesota play the Falcons in Atlanta without Kirk Cousins.
