Browns Quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson Out Against Broncos Due To Concussion

Browns quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson departed Sunday’s 29-12 defeat to the Broncos due to a concussion, sustained after a hard hit at the end of a pass play.

Facing a 17-12 deficit just before the close of the third quarter, Thompson-Robinson left the game following a forceful hit while throwing an incompletion, requiring an extra moment to rise from the ground.

Broncos linebacker Baron Browning incurred a roughing of the passer penalty for the hit. Despite Thompson-Robinson being able to walk off the field under his own power, he sought medical attention in the tent, displaying a bloody mouth as shown on the broadcast. Subsequently, he walked to the locker room with a towel over his head and was later ruled out.

Backup quarterback P.J. Walker entered the game as the sole available QB, with third-stringer Joe Flacco not activated.

Facing the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13, Thompson-Robinson’s status remains uncertain. When asked about the possibility of Flacco filling in, Coach Stefanski remained non-committal.

Before exiting, Thompson-Robinson completed 14 of 29 passes for 134 yards, leading the Browns on a touchdown drive in their last possession (although the two-point conversion was unsuccessful).

In his five appearances this season, the UCLA rookie was 58-of-109 passing for 429 yards, registering one touchdown and four interceptions.

Walker, who started two games for the Browns this year, finished the final quarter of this game, going 6-of-13 passing for 56 yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions, contributing to the Browns’ quarterback decisions this season.
