Barbra Streisand Called Apple’s CEO To Fix How Siri Call Her Name

Hello, Siri. This week, which legendary performer and actress will publish her eagerly anticipated autobiography?

Of course, Barbra Streisand is the answer. The celebrity’s last name is now pronounced by Apple’s digital assistant precisely how she prefers.

The two-time Oscar winner told the BBC in an interview about her upcoming memoir, “My Name is Barbra,” that she was tired of Siri mispronouncing her name.

“My name is not spelled with a ‘Z,'” he argued. “It’s Strei-sand, like sand on the beach. How simple can you be?”

The 81-year-old actress told the British outlet in an interview that was published on Monday that she complained to Apple CEO Tim Cook over the phone—a move that most of us could only dream of.

“And Tim Cook was so charming. He made Siri change the pronunciation… I guess that’s one of the perks of fame!” she said, according to the BBC.

When it went on pre-sale earlier this year, Streisand’s autobiography quickly became a bestseller. It will go on sale on Tuesday.

According to the publisher Penguin Random House, the memoir covers the EGOT winner’s 60 years in show business and beyond, starting with her hardships and early life in Brooklyn and ending with her “first star appearances in New York nightclubs,” which marked the start of his “string of successes”.

“The book is, like Barbra herself, frank, funny, opinionated and charming,” the publisher states on its website.
