Ansu Fati And Simon Adingra Goals Push Brighton Closer To Europa League Knockouts With Historic Victory Against Ajax

After a dominant 2-0 victory over Ajax, goals from Ansu Fati and Simon Adingra briefly catapulted Brighton to the top of their Europa League group. In addition to putting Roberto De Zebri’s team in a fantastic position to move on to the next round, the victory at the Johan Cruyff Arena was the club’s first-ever away win in European play.

In the Group B UEFA Europa League encounter on Thursday, Brighton defeated Ajax with a historic 2-0 triumph.

The game got off to a good start for both teams, who were eager to move forward and outplay their rivals.

After 14 minutes, Brighton led 1-0 thanks to a gift. After Silvano Vos misplayed a pass, Simon Adingra intercepted it and managed to slip Ansu Fati through. The 21-year-old Spaniard then took care of the rest, shooting past Diant Ramaj. Even though Fati still had work to do after receiving the ball, his flawless first touch had put him in a great position to score.

After a brilliant move only ten minutes into the second half, Brighton extended their lead. Adingra, who was able to be released by Fati, hammered his finish past Ramaj on the right side.

When Brian Brobbey met Carlos Forbs’ cross in the 75th minute, Ajax had a great opportunity to equalize, but Brobbey’s shot struck both posts and straddled the goal line before being scrambled away.

Ajax tried more in the second half, moving the ball with greater purpose and intensity and sending more players forward to attack, but in the end, it was too little, too late for the hosts as Brighton prevailed famously in Amsterdam.

With two games remaining in Group B against AEK Athens and Marseille, the victory gives Roberto De Zerbi’s team seven points from four games.
