Alexander-Arnold Rescues Liverpool From Manchester City’s Terror

Alexander-Arnold rescues Liverpool from Manchester City terror

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s second-half goal was enough for Liverpool to defend the threat that Manchester City and Haaland brought to the long-time rivalry clash and the battle for the top spot.

Liverpool started their attack early and Darwin Nunez forced a fine save from Ederson.

Alisson Becker had a poor performance and it was his mistake that cost the Reds a goal. Alisson’s poor clearance was taken by Nathan Ake who passed the ball to Erling Haaland to slot in his 50th Premier League goal.

City had a chance to widen the scoreline midway through the second half, but Reuben Diaz’s goal was canceled due to a foul on Alisson by Manuel Akanji.

Liverpool cooked a counterattack a few minutes later and Trent Alexander-Arnold brilliantly fired it home for Jurgen Klopp’s side to level the game.

Mohammed Salah was a bit quiet in the game. He could not create many chances but he provided the assist that led to Liverpool’s equalizer.

Jeremy Doku was the danger man for City, constantly causing issues down Liverpool’s right side.

Liverpool is the first team to draw away against Manchester City in 2023, ending their 23-home winning streak.

The two teams remain divided by a single point at the top of the table.
