80-Foot Norway Spruce The Nod As Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, To Be Pulled Down Next Week

This year’s Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, an 80-foot-tall (24-meter) Norway spruce from the Binghamton region, will be chopped down and transported to New York City the following week, Rockefeller Center officials announced on Wednesday.

According to organizers, the tree will be chopped on November 9 in Vestal, New York, and delivered on November 11 to Rockefeller Center in midtown Manhattan.

On Nov. 29, during a live television broadcast, the tree will be lit after being covered in over 50,000 lights and adorned with a star. The exhibit will be up until January 13, 2024.

An annual draw of hordes of fans is the Rockefeller Center tree, one of New York City’s most well-known Christmas attractions.

About 190 miles (306 kilometers) to the northwest of New York City is Vestal.
