A math lecturer at the University of Houston has been suspended after allegations that he had child pornography on him.
According to information cited by ABC13, James Chang was detained on the university campus for possessing child pornography.
Students on campus were stunned to hear of the arrest, according to interviews with ABC13.
Chang’s employment as a tutor for a nearby tutoring business in the Houston region was also confirmed by Eyewitness News.
The tutoring agency states on its website that its tutors work with both K–12 and college students.
The company owner informed ABC13 that she wanted to hold off on commenting until additional information was made public.
According to the Houston Police Department, an investigation into these allegations got underway in July.
Chang has not yet received a formal accusation and he is yet to be charged.
