Terrell Owens Hit By Car After Argument During Pickup Basketball Game

Former Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers, and Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Owens was struck by a car on Monday night following an altercation on a basketball court, according to the Los Angeles Times and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

On Sunday, while playing basketball in Calabasas, California, Owens got into a fight with another man. According to TMZ, the man in question got into a car after the game and struck Owens in one of his knees.

According to the report, Owens was unharmed and did not require medical attention following the event. Although no one was taken into custody, an inquiry is still underway. What was at issue in the argument is unknown.

Chattanooga native Owens was originally chosen by the 49ers in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft. Before having spells with the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals, he played his first eight seasons in the league there. Over his career, Owens amassed 15,934 receiving yards—third on the all-time list behind only Larry Fitzgerald and Jerry Rice—and 153 touchdowns. 2018 saw his induction into the Hall of Fame.

Although Owens hasn’t participated in league competition since 2010, he has made suggestions that he might return at any point in the past several years. Last year, he took part in the Fan Controlled Football league and, despite being 48 years old, he managed to run a 40-yard dash in under 4.50 seconds.

Owens has been involved in several incidents over the years, but this one on Monday was the most recent. In a parking lot at CVS, Owens was seen on camera last year assaulting a man who had allegedly “made offensive gestures and threatening statements” toward him.
