Sam Neill Is More Afraid Of Retirement Than Dying From Cancer

76-year-old Hollywood actor Sam Neill has suggested that he is more afraid of retiring from what he loves than dying from cancer.

Neill, known for his work in television and films like “Jurassic Park,” said that after three months of chemotherapy, the treatment stopped working, probably due to his age.

“I know I’ve got it, but I’m not really interested in it,” Neill said. ‘It’s out of my control. If you can’t control it, don’t get into it.”

Neill is now receiving doses of a rare anti-cancer drug every two weeks that has helped his road to recovery, but he has accepted his fate as the doctor says the drugs would soon stop being effective.

But Neill would rather concentrate on his garden, his vineyards, his grandchildren, and work.

“I’m prepared for that,” Neill said.

Before the actors’ strike, he had been working with Annette Bening on the adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s novel, “Apples Never Fall.”

According to the actor, he is not afraid of dying, he only finds it annoying as there are so many things he still wishes to do.

But the idea of retiring from acting or not being able to do what he loves scares him the most.

According to the National Institutes of Health, the disease “is a subtype of peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL)” and “accounts for only 1% to 2% of all non-Hodgkin lymphomas.”
