Christian McCaffrey, a running back with the San Francisco 49ers, has undoubtedly written himself into the annals of NFL history.
The 27-year-old joined Hall of Famers O.J. Simpson and John Riggins as the only players to have amassed a 15-game touchdown streak, including both regular season and postseason games, on Sunday.
The most recent victory in McCaffrey’s legendary streak was in a Week 6 contest against the Cleveland Browns.
McCaffrey traveled 13 yards to the end zone on a shovel toss from quarterback Brock Purdy, giving the 49ers a 7-0 lead.
San Francisco’s outstanding 15-game regular season winning streak, which is presently the longest active stretch in the NFL, has been greatly aided by McCaffrey’s touchdown streak.
