Boston Celtics Honor Victims Of Maine Mass Shooting Maine With Moment Of Silence, Special Jersey Patch

Prior to their home opener, the Boston Celtics paid tribute to the victims of the terrible shooting that occurred in Lewiston, Maine this week.

The Maine Celtics, Boston’s NBA G League club, provided their warm-up uniforms. In support of the state during its recovery from the shooting that left 18 people dead and 13 injured at a bar and bowling alley in the area, the Celtics also wore a band on their jerseys.

The jersey band, which was positioned over their Vistaprint-sponsored logo patch, simply said “Maine.”

Along with a green and white graphic of the state outline on the jumbotron, fans held a moment of silence prior to kickoff.
