According to the 2023 Ballon d’Or rankings, Nigerian international Victor Osimhen is ranked among the world’s ten best players.
The Nigerian international guided Napoli to the Scudetto for the first time in over thirty years during the 2022–2023 season.
Last season, he finished with 26 goals in the league and 31 goals overall in 39 games across all competitions.
According to Infogol, he also assisted the Partenopei in making their first-ever trip to the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.
The former Lille of France striker, who also took home the Golden Boot, was chosen as Serie A’s finest striker of the year.
Osimhen scored ten goals on the international level to assist Nigeria in earning a spot in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
He was rewarded for his efforts with a nomination for the Ballon d’Or and ended up in the top ten, surpassing players like Mohamed Salah and Karim Benzema.
In the final rankings, Osimhen came in eighth place overall, followed by Bernardo Silva in ninth and Luka Modric in tenth.
Robert Lewandowski placed 12th, while Karim Benzema came in at 16th.
