60% Of Dillon Danis’ Fights Cancelled

Dillon Danis has developed a reputation for being an inconsistent combat sports personality who is controversial In recent years. He is referred to as “El Jefe,” but his career record is barely 2-0. Due to his brazen trash-talking and involvement in the influencer scene, Danis has been able to garner a lot of notoriety despite having little ring experience. It seems, though, that he rarely follows through on his promises of fights.

Just eight days remain till Danis’ scheduled boxing battle against Logan Paul as of the time of writing. The certainty of this battle, however, is still in doubt because Danis has been hinting at the prospect of backing out in posts to X.

Let’s examine Danis’ record in more detail and review the multiple occasions when his battles were postponed:

Prior to switching to professional MMA, Danis first established himself in the world of grappling. At Bellator 198 in 2018, he made his professional debut and won with a toe hold submission in the opening frame.

After his debut, Bellator 221 cancelled Danis’ next fight, which was later rescheduled for Bellator 222. A first-round armbar submission by Danis gave him the victory. But with that, his MMA professional career came to an end.

Due to an injury, Danis withdrew from his third professional match. The grappler need surgery for his right knee’s meniscus and LCL. He said to ESPN that he wasn’t anticipating to be on the shelf for very long.

Ten days before his first influencer boxing match with KSI four years later, Danis famously withdrew. Promoter Mams Taylor of Misfits Boxing claimed that Danis withdrew due to being “underprepared” and having weight issues.

Danis made every effort to publicize his battle with Logan Paul, and as a result, his social media following significantly increased.

This rise in popularity followed a contentious smear campaign in which he relentlessly bombarded Nina Agdal, Paul’s fiancée, with private and sensitive photos of the Danish model, posting them directly to Danis’ social media channels on a nearly daily basis.

As a result, Paul and Agdal filed a lawsuit against Danis and obtained a restraining order. According to Agdal, some of the materials being posted were taken from a Snapchat account that had been hacked. She is requesting $150,000 for each infraction.

Since then, Danis has stated that his remarks weren’t meant seriously.

If the short-notice cancellation of the Danis vs. Paul fight occurs, Danis will have a 66.66% (2/3) cancellation percentage in his six scheduled professional fights. According to Paul, “[Danis] knows that pulling out AGAIN would guarantee no fighter, fight organization, or legit brand will ever work with him because he’s an unreliable liar.”
