Quinn Sullivan Named As MLS Team Of The Matchday Bench

Quinn Sullivan, a Philadelphia Union homegrown, has been chosen for the MLSSoccer.com Team of the Matchday bench after helping the Philadelphia Union get off to a quick start to a playoff-clinching draw.

At Charlotte FC, Sullivan joined the game in the 66th minute and immediately cut the deficit to one after four minutes. In the 69th minute, Julian Carranza’s powerful cross to the back post for Sullivan from Philly nearly led to a goal, but the play was disallowed for offside.

A minute later, with the two players in perfect alignment, Sullivan sent a pass out wide to the Argentine striker who had plenty of room. Carranza, who was sprinting down the right side, hit the Union native in stride with a right-footed curler that dribbled into the corner to make it 2-1.

On Saturday night, Sullivan and the rest of the Boys in Blue will host LAFC for Fiesta Hispana hosted by Bimbo Bakeries USA. Kickoff is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. ET, and MLS Season Pass on Apple TV offers a free way to watch the action.
