Travis Kelce’s legendary ode to classic Beastie Boys diddy Fight For Your Right has now gone mainstream in the sports world, after tennis legend Novak Djokovic impersonated the Kansas City Chiefs tight end on Tuesday at the U.S. Open.
Novak Djokovic spoke to the crowd and instructed them on how to properly celebrate, following his victory over Taylor Fritz to advance to the Open semifinals.
The official U.S. Open Twitter account shared a clip of the incident along with the required nod to Kelce, the modernizer of the song’s words.
The audience at the U.S.T.A. Billie Jean King National Tennis Center responded to Djokovic’s delivery of the statement with perhaps less excitement, but his fervor was on par with Kelce’s.
The first game of the NFL’s 2023 regular season, between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions, may give the three-time U.S. Open champion the opportunity to watch Kelce in action.
