Nebraska QB Jeff Sims Injured In A Game Against Colorado

Jeff Sims, the Nebraska quarterback, was assisted to the bench against No. 22 Colorado due to an ankle injury. In order to be tackled to the ground by CU defensive end Sav’ell Smalls, the Georgia Tech transfer rolled out of the pocket.

Midway through the fourth quarter, with Colorado leading 29-7, Sims was replaced by Heinrich Haarberg, a backup.

He contributed 173 yards, and the Huskers’ lone touchdown came on a 57-yard run before his departure. Sims committed three errors overall as well. He was declared ineligible and left the game.

In the former “Red Letter” rivalry, Colorado entered the contest as a 3-point favorite. After Thomas Fidone II caught a touchdown pass from Haarberg from 4 yards away, the Buffs went on to win 36-14.

Nebraska hosts Northern Illinois at home next week.
