Man City Boss Guardiola Confirms Bernardo Silva Has Joined The Club’s Injury List

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, declared that his team is now “in trouble” when Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva joined the team’s long list of injured players.

Silva was forced to leave Tuesday’s 3-1 home victory over Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League opener before halftime. Silva signed a one-year deal last month that will keep him at City until 2026.

Key players Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, Jack Grealish, and Mateo Kovacic are already out injured for City.

“He (Silva) didn’t say anything at the end,” Guardiola said. “I didn’t speak with the doctors, but apparently, for the next games, he won’t be able to play.”

The league’s top team, City, will play home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday in an attempt to make it six wins in a row, but Guardiola is concerned about the effects of having so many important players out at once.

“We are in trouble but I am not going to say, ‘Oh, we have a lot of injuries’,” he told reporters.

“When we have five important players – really, really important players – injured, to sustain that for a long time will be difficult. But it is what it is.”
