On Saturday morning, Liverpool U18s defeated Reading 4-1 in a friendly game thanks to two goals from Jayden Danns.
Danns has scored seven goals so far this season, six of them at the U18 level, and his first for the U21s came against AS Monaco on Wednesday night in the Premier League International Cup.
For Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s team, goals were also scored by Cody Pennington and Joe Bradshaw.
Reflecting on the win, Bridge-Wilkinson told Liverpoolfc.com: “Reading are a good team and it was a very useful exercise for us.
“We played quite well at times and started the game really well, going 2-0 up quite quickly. We changed the team around a bit and a lot of players got some valuable minutes.”
The U18s host Sunderland in the U18 Premier League North the following Saturday to resume their competitive schedule. Kickoff for that game is at 1pm BST and will be shown live on LFCTV GO.
