North Korea Accuses US Military Of Racism After A Black Soldier Allegedly Flees The Camp

North Korea has accused the United States Military of racism after they claimed that a young black member of the US military fled from camp because of how he was treated.

It marks the North’s first public confirmation of the incident since 23-year-old Travis King crossed the border last month.

The investigation suggested that King admitted to entering the North Korean border illegally and that he was motivated by “ill feeling against inhuman maltreatment and racial discrimination within the U.S. Army.”

They also claimed that the young army member was seeking refuge in their country because he was “disillusioned” about inequality in American society.

King was arrested last October and convicted of attacking a South Korean citizen, damaging police vehicles, and verbally abusing police officers while drunk. Why he did that is still yet to be determined.

King joined the U.S. Army in 2021 and was a private 2nd class and cavalry scout with the 1st Armored Division.

He was to return to his unit in the U.S., but skipped the flight, and joined a tour of the demilitarized zone on the border between the two Koreas.
