Harry Maguire To Retain Spot On England Squad

Harry Maguire To Retain Spot On England Squad

Out-of-luck Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire may likely retain his place when the latest England squad is announced on Thursday.

England are setting their squad for the upcoming internationals against Ukraine and Scotland and Harry Maguire may likely be named.

Harry has been missing for Manchester United since they started their new campaign. Erik Ten Hag has preferred Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, and Victor Lindelof for United this season.

The England defender has been linked to West Ham but he prefers to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his spot in the 23-man squad.

Now, with John Stones and Tyrone Mings injured, and Eric Dier not even included on the Tottenham bench for the first three Premier League matches of the season, Maguire looks certain to keep his England place, since Southgate would be looking for experience.

Harry was England’s best defender during the Qatar World Cup, despite a lack of game-time for his club.

Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi might keep his place, but there could now also be a formal call-up for Levi Colwill.

Jude Bellingham will return to the squad after withdrawing last time because of a knee injury.
