The birth of Serena Williams’ second child has been confirmed by her and her husband, Alexis Ohanian.
On Tuesday, Williams and Ohanian shared videos on TikTok and Instagram to mark Adira River Ohanian’s arrival. On September 1, 2017, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., the couple’s first child, was born.
“I’m grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama,” Alexis Ohanian wrote on Instagram, where the happy family posed for pictures.
Williams also shared a video of bringing her newborn into the family’s home on TikTok.
Williams ended her career as a professional tennis player following the September 2022 US Open. She announced her desire to “evolve away” from the sport in an essay published in Vogue. She also stated that she planned to start a family after her tennis career.
