Vikings WR Jordan Addison Cited For Overspeeding & Reckless Driving, Going 140 mph In 55 Zone

Minnesota Vikings first-round draft pick Jordan Addison has been cited for over-speeding and reckless driving after a state trooper clocked him driving at 140 mph in his sports car in a 55 mph zone.

The 21-year-old rookie receiver was driving in a Lamborghini Urus, pulled over without resistance at 3:07 a.m, the Minnesota State Patrol said. The trooper that caught him was also traveling east on Interstate Hwy. 94 in St. Paul about a mile outside of downtown.

Addison was the only person in the car. The state patrol also said it will conduct further investigation in its report.

Drivers in Minnesota who are cited for overspeeding in excess of 100 mph can have their licenses revoked for at least six months.

The Vikings, in a statement, said “We are aware of last night’s traffic incident involving Jordan Addison and are gathering additional information.”

Vikings rookies are scheduled to report Sunday for training camp, with veterans reporting next Tuesday and the first on-field work set for Wednesday.

Addison missed most of the team’s offseason games due to a minor injury and was set to compete for a starting role in the Vikings’ three-receiver formations.

He was the 2021 Biletnikoff Award winner for the nation’s top wide receiver at Pittsburgh and was transferred to USC for his final college season.

Addison had 59 catches for 875 yards and eight touchdowns in 2022 for the Trojans. In two years with the Panthers, Addison had 2,259 receiving yards.
