Bayern Munich took the scoring against Rottach-Egern in their pre-season friendly match personally when they ended the game 27-0.
The defending German champion showed no mercy against the amateur side ninth-tier Rottach-Egern from the onset and by halftime, the scoreboard stood at 18-0.
In the second half, Rottach-Egern managed to limit the damage to allow nine additional goals.
Four players scored hat tricks or better in the rout, with Jamal Musiala, Marcel Sabitzer, and 18-year-old Mathys Tel each scoring five times and Serge Gnabry scoring three goals.
Raphael Guerreiro added two goals in his first appearance for Bayern since joining from Borussia Dortmund, while Sadio Mane and Kingsley Coman further pushed the lopsided victory with goals just before full-time.
The match was played at Bayern Munich’s training camp near the town of Tegernsee, with head coach Thomas Tuchel playing two entirely different teams to start each half.
The 27-goal victory surpassed their previous match against Rottach-Egern in 2019 when Bayern won by 23-0.
South Korean Minjae Kim who just got signed in was also present at the friendly.
“FC Bayern is a dream for every footballer,” Kim said. “I’m really looking forward to what’s to come in Munich. It’s a new beginning for me. I’ll continue to develop here.
“In discussions with the club, it was made clear to me from the start how interested they are in me. My first goal is to play a lot of games. In addition, I want to win as many trophies as possible.”
“He impresses with his physical presence, as well as his mentality and speed,” Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said of Kim. “We’re pleased he can immediately take part fully in preseason and firmly believe that he will also excite our fans with his style of play.”
Bayern has other friendly matches against Premier League champions Manchester City and Liverpool before the Bundesliga play on Aug. 18 at Werder Bremen. The first official match of the season for Tuchel & Co. comes on Aug. 12 against RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena in Munich in the German Super Cup.
