In the just concluded US elections, Ron DeSantis has been reelected for a second term as State Governor by the people of Florida.
The only other candidate that came close to his votes was Charlie Crist, a former Democratic Congressman who, as a Republican, served as Florida Governor more than a decade ago.
Since DeSantis would likely run for President in 2024, the victory has given him some back story and a trustworthy ground, since he is going for another term as governor.
DeSantis has been a vocal critic of the Biden administration on immigration, as he has allowed the supposedly massive illegal immigration of people across the Southern Border.
He also signed into law measures that restrict how public schools teach students about race, sexual orientation and gender identity.
Ron DeSantis may not be a favorite of the Democrats, he may even be one f their enemies, but he has a strong ground with the majorly conservative people of Florida.
Ron also opposed the president’s COVID policies and made White House medical advisor Anthony Fauci a top target for his criticism.
DeSantis had trouble a bit with Florida Hurricane destruction, although it did not deter him from winning a second term. The devastation had questioned his ability even when he directed the response and aid to struggling communities.
In the end, it seems Ron did well to manage every major crisis that hit his state without provoking a revolution, which is a good sign.
The second-term victory proves that Florida is a highly conservative state with one of the highest support for Republicans and their policies.
It also shows that most people in the Power State are not aligning with many of Biden’s administration policies, including allowing children to do whatever they want.
No Democratic candidate has won the Florida governorship elections in the past 28 years, although they mostly come close. But, Florida strongly supports the Republicans.
