
In the Premier League game between Liverpool and Manchester City, manager Jurgen Klopp was dismissed for violently objecting to assistant referee Gary Beswick’s call.
Mohamed Salah scored for Liverpool to maintain a 1-0 lead, and Bernardo Silva pushed the Egyptian down in front of the assistant referee, who chose not to call a foul.
This enraged Klopp, who immediately challenged the choice to assistant referee Beswick and voiced his unhappiness.
When the ball was out of play again, Anthony Taylor immediately went to the Liverpool manager and had him dismissed. The Anfield supporters gave Klopp a standing ovation as he entered the tunnel.
Liverpool hung on to a slim lead, defeated Manchester City 1-0, and moved up to eighth place in the standings.
