The Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback for Alabama, Bryce Young, seemed to hurt his throwing shoulder during the second quarter of Saturday’s game at Arkansas.
Before going inside the injury tent, Young flung his helmet to the ground. There were seven minutes left in the first half when he departed for the changing room. To join him, his parents got up from their places in the audience.
After completing 7 of 13 throws for 173 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception, Young was forced to sit out. Alabama had a 14-0 advantage.
The following series saw the introduction of backup quarterback Jalen Milroe, who guided Alabama to a touchdown.
Young had 10 touchdowns and two interceptions going into the weekend after playing in four games.
On Saturday, Texas A&M will visit Alabama.
