Michigan State Police verified on Twitter that it is still supporting Dearborn police with an active shooter incident at a Dearborn hotel.
The Hampton Inn, located at 22324 Michigan Ave., was described as “extremely active and dangerous” by the agency just after 3 p.m.
It requested that people avoid visiting downtown Dearborn.
Soon after 2 p.m., MSP reported that the suspect was still shooting bullets.
“Troopers and officers are working on clearing the entire area around the hotel,” the agency tweeted. “Please stay away from the area as this is an active situation and extremely dangerous to the public.”
On Twitter, the City of Dearborn also acknowledged the occurrence.
