Facebook’s executive At UFC Vegas 61, Mark Zuckerberg was seen on the TV sitting next to his wife during the Ilir Latifi vs. Aleksei Oleinik preliminary bout. Earlier in the week, the event was off-limits to the general public and the media without any justification.
The main event competitor Mackenzie Dern made the assertion that Zuckerberg had “rented out the whole place,” but UFC president Dana White quickly disproved it.
It appears that Zuckerberg did attend the card, though it’s unclear whether he purchased every seat or whether some may have been gifts.
White had shied away from speaking to the media about the fight earlier in the week. He jokingly suggested giving them the night off instead.
“We just figured that you guys have been so busy lately, that we give you guys a night off. You guys are here on Tuesdays, you’re here on Saturdays… We need to give you guys a break. You’re welcome,” he told the media at DWCS. “You guys just stay home, order a pizza and watch the fights, take them in, and enjoy yourselves. There’s no big secret… We just to give you guys a nice weekend off with your families and relax and enjoy yourselves.”
