Through three games, Jalen Hurts had been almost flawless, but Sunday’s contest with the Jacksonville Jaguars got off to a shaky start.
Hurts attempted to hammer receiver Zach Pascal along the left side with his third forced pass of the contest. Cornerback Darious Williams tipped it, and safety Andre Cisco intercepted it. Cisco returned the interception 59 yards for a score, giving Jacksonville a 7-0 lead. With four touchdown throws to one interception and three additional touchdowns on the ground, Hurts came into the game as the early favorite for MVP.
However, the weather was far from perfect when the game began, with wind and rain whipping through Lincoln Financial Field and Hurts going up against a Jaguars defense that had given up a total of 10 points in its previous two games.
