Due to Deion Sanders’ continuous success as the head coach at Jackson State, his name has been mentioned for open Power 5 positions in the college football world. Sanders won’t stop looking into alternative options even if it doesn’t seem like he wants to leave right now.
Sanders spoke on ESPN to talk about his situation with respect to other coaching positions while College Gameday was in Jackson, Mississippi for the Jackson State-Southern University game.
As the Tigers’ head coach, Jackson is in his third season, and each one has been more successful than the previous. His record at Jackson State is 20-5 thus far, which includes a SWAC title in 2021 and a 7-0 start to this season.
If Jackson decides to transfer to a Power 5 institution, he may have a number of options. If the Tigers decide to part ways with Bryan Harsin, Auburn might be the team to keep an eye on because Bo Jackson and Joel Klatt both think Sanders is a good fit.
