The second group stage matches for UEFA Champions League 2022 saw Sporting steal a late win from Tottenham in the closing minutes of a highly competitive match.
Sporting hosted the Premier League giants, after thumping Frankfurt in their first group stage match of the UEFA Champions League 2022. Sporting took the fight to Tottenham and was able to maintain a goalless draw after the first half. Both teams had shots on goal, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
After 85 minutes of counterattacks, the match seemed like it would end in a goalless draw, but in the 91st minute, Sporting broke the deadlock when Pedro Goncalves gave a splendid pass to Paulinho who did not disappoint, putting the ball in the back of the net.
In the 93rd minute, Arthur Gomez solidified the win with a wonderful goal to take the host two goals clear of their arch Premier League rivals.
